UNRAVELLING THE MYSTERY OF THE HUMAN NOMENCLATURE I like us to understand the significance of the name "HUMAN BEING". There are two words that are absolutely important to human existence : "beings and doings" . These two words are essentially interconnected. They give definition to our life. The totality of our life is summed up in these two words. "Doing", as the name implies, is simply what we do - our undertakings . While "being" is whom we are. You see in life, who we are coupled with what we do is the essence of living . The salient importance of what we do, and the absolute significance of who we are, cannot be overemphasized . They are as important as the breath in our nostrils . Now, I like us to take cognizance of the fact that we are called "human beings", and not "human doings".
