Developing mindset for sucess

SUCCESS BEGINS WITH YOUR MINDSET

Success, as we all know, is best defined by an individual. It depends on the perspective from which you view it. And, according to Oxford English dictionary, success is defined as the outcome of a result or something which happens as a consequence. Yes! As true as that may be, that's not all there is to success. From my own understanding, success is more than what we do. It's about who we are! Who you are, as far as success is concerned, is greatly consequential to what success is essentially about.

Over the years, the philosophy of success being the result of doing something spectacular, laudable or excellent, has so much been entrenched into our subconscious mind that we try as much as possible to live up to its standards, not realizing that, success is beyond that. I'm not saying, doing something excellent, laudable and meritorious, are not success. No! What I'm saying is that they are merely trinkets of success and not success in itself. There's need for us to properly understand the philosophy upon which success is meant to be predicated. Success, I repeat, is more of WHO YOU ARE than WHAT YOU DO

We do think that only those who occupy greater position, hierarchically, in life are successful; like those who are highly professional, who have greater financial advantages, and have acquired substantial amount of education. But that's far from the truth! Those things might be very good pointers actually but they do not entirely make up what success is. That you are the richest doesn't make you a success; that you are the most brilliant or intellectually advantaged does not make you a success; that you wield much power and authority does not, in anyway, make you a success. The biblical character, David, was already successful before he got to the palace, while he was in the bush with the sheep. It was not when he became a king that he was successful. He had been successful before then. Compared to King Saul. He was king yet not successful!  He had the position, the money, the power and the authority, yet he was not successful. However, David, who had nothing, no money, power, riches, authority was successful. His success was first exhibited when he found a problem, and he solved it - His defeat of Goliath.
if you want to be successful, do not seek success, rather seek to become a person of value, says Myles Munroe. So the emphasis is on YOU

Success begins with your mindset — the way you see yourself. If you don't see yourself as successful, then you are not successful. You have to work on yourself first to make yourself valuable, then success will come following you. Take time to overhaul yourself. For you to be successful, first try and become a success by working on yourself.
Success is also largely determined by the level of influence YOUR LIFE, not YOUR POSSESSION make!  In that little area you find yourself, how effectively are you making use of it? How is your life positively influencing those around you ?
You may be a respected professional, but you may not be successful. It depend on the way you are spending your life to influence and impact others. Our great fathers in the faith are not successful because of the amount of wealth in their possessions, or the level of power they command; rather they are successful as a result of the exceptional influence and impacts they are daily making in people's life. Pastor Nick, one of the greatest Christian leader of our generation, as we all know, had no arms and legs, yet, he is today a success. Nothing could have earned him much success other than his life worth and his motivational impacts upon humanity. He broke through the limitations of his disabilities and made himself a world wide celebrity. We also have so many others like that who are great celebrities, not because of what they have actually, but because of who they are —their great significance and relevance to human existence. You don't necessarily need to be the richest, most handsome, beautiful, wealthiest, strongest, wisest, etc, for you to be successful. Start seeing yourself as a success, and in no time, you will start experiencing it in all areas of your life. Never overlook yourself! Never think you are not capable enough! Never see yourself as not eligible You are ! All what it takes is for you to work on yourself to make your life valuable, to make positive and significant impacts in people's life.

Bill Gates, in one of his quotes says,  "When I was in high school, I failed in a subject but my friend passed. Today, the friend of mine is an engineer in Microsoft, but I'm the owner of Microsoft!" (paraphrased by me)

Albert Einstein, one of the greatest scientists, whose immense contributions to the development of science, through his multifaceted discoveries, cannot be overemphasized, was once a failure. But, he never saw himself as failure; rather he saw himself as a great success, and he became a success.

So, I  like you to understand that success, is not just a matter of what you do, what you have or where you are. Rather, it's a matter of who you are, the level of influence your life makes and your effectiveness and significance in the world!

"success is not an act but an habit" – Aristotle

However, remember YOUR GREATEST SUCCESS IN LIFE IS FOR YOU TO HAVE JESUS!!!.  IF YOU DON'T, YOU ARE AN AUTOMATIC FAILURE!

GOD BLESS YOU !
