AS LONG AS THE BOOK IS CLOSED, THE STRUGGLE

 CONTINUES.

Life is meant to be lived not endured. The earlier you understand this, the better it is for you. Life is not just about going to school, getting a degree, getting a job, marrying, retiring and dying. This is actually the orientation of many of us but, life is more than that. There’s more to life than just waking up, going to work, coming back and going back again the next day. When one’s life is reduced to mere activities, the result is that one lives to survive and not to fulfill destiny.

What then does it mean to really live? How can you live not to survive but to fulfill destiny? The answer can be derived from Rev. 5:4.

 “And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.  And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.”.

 Apostle John the beloved, during the course of his revelation encounter on the isles of patmos where he wrote the book of revelation, saw a book which no man was able to open let alone look into it. And, as long as the book could not be opened, his struggle in tears continued. how then does that practically apply to our lives? Do you also know that there is a book that had been written concerning your life right before you were born? It is the book of destiny! This book contains the necessary details about the essence of your life. If you want to live to fulfill destiny, discovering this book and opening it to see what it actually contains about your life is not an option but a necessity.

As long as the book of one’s life has not been opened let alone read, living is nothing but a struggle for survival. Such an individual will just be struggling to survive. I don't necessarily mean that the individual will be living in poverty. No! The individual might be well to do but the mere fact that you are rich and abundantly prosperous cannot compensate for the consequence of not knowing what is written concerning your life in the book of destiny. Life is not about making money;but, having meaning. And, you can only find meaning to your life by looking at what is written concerning you.

If you really want to live and not just exist, you must find out what is written concerning you. It was said of Jesus Christ in Heb. 10:7 that, “Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.”. Jesus knew he had come to fulfill what had been written concerning him, and he did. His whole life on the planet earth was based on his discovery of his book of destiny. He never did anything contrary.  He walked in total obedience to the father and was passionately committed to his mandate of man's redemption. The discovery of what was written concerning him, and his total obedience and commitment to his fulfillment resulted into our salvation and redemption.

You know what? Your life is not for yourself alone. A lot of destines are tied to the fulfillment of yours. If you don’t take responsibility to find what is written concerning your life now, you will deprive the coming generation, and God will ask you what you did with your life here on earth. The extension of the gospel to the whole of the gentile world b ringing about our salvation as gentiles was brought about by Apostle Paul fulfilling what was written concerning his life. Imagine if he had not found and discovered it, what do you think could have been the fate of we gentiles today?

Fulfilling destiny is the only thing that can compensate for your existence on this earth. Why should you come to world and not fulfill destiny? What necessitated your coming in the first place is your purpose. So, if you don’t discover it now in the book of destiny, then what do you have to show for your life?

One thing you need to understand is that your success in life is tied to your effectiveness not your efficiency. What do I mean by that? It is one thing to do things right (that’s efficiency); it is another thing to do the right things (that’s effectiveness). Doing things right is what makes you efficient but do you know that you can actually do wrong things rightly? I mean, that you are doing things right, perfect and without mistakes does not mean you are doing what you are actually meant to be doing. So, the question you need to ask yourself is this, what am I supposed to be doing in life? What is my purpose? It is when you do the right things (fulfilling purpose) that you can be really successful in life. Many people change from one job to the other. Why? Because, they haven’t found what is really written concerning their lives. I want to challenge you today to discover what you are on earth to do. You are not meant to just be here to make numbers. No. You are here to make meaningful contributions to the world The day I discovered this truth, my orientation changed instantly. I suddenly realized how significant my life is - and can be - and the major experiences I’ve had in times past began to have meaning. I began to understand many things about myself that had earlier been veiled by ignorance.

One of my favorite quotes is this, “you never realize how meaningful, significant and needful your life is until you discover why you are on earth. And, you never know how successful you can be until you look into the book of your destiny.”. I strongly believe that your creation by God and conception in your mother's womb was necessitated by a need in the agenda of God. If you were not needed, I've always believed, you would never have been created because God is not a waster of resources. He doesn’t manufacture a product and then thinks of what he will do with it. No! He already knows the purpose before he creates the product. Before he created you, he had known you. So, you are not an accident. Your birth might be illegitimate but your creation was never illegitimate! You were born at the right time! And what you have come to do had been written in a book. Discovering the book is what gives the whole of your life essential meaning.

My friend, I’m calling your attention today to what is most important. Everybody is existing but not everybody is living. Only those who have discovered the things written concerning them are truly living. This is because by their commitment to what they have discovered, they will be making meaningful contributions to the kingdom of God and to humanity. That’s what success is all about. It is not about having money, fame, power, position, etc. No, those things are good. But they do not constitute your entire life; your purpose does! They are life necessities but they are not life essentials.

Find out what is written concerning your life today, and your life will begin to have a meaning. You might have been rejected in the society. Don’t worry, your life has a meaning. Maybe you are even thinking of committing suicide due to life challenges. No, don’t do that! There’s hope for you. All you need is to go to God and find out what is written concerning you. Don’t be depressed and dejected. They might have called you a nobody, but I tell you, you are a somebody. Maybe you just lost your job, and you don’t know how to go about your life again; friend, there’s great hope for you. As a student, are you having some academic challenges that is already making you lose believe in yourself or maybe you are already thinking you can’t be successful in life; there is hope for you. You can still be the best. Just find out your book of destiny because, in it lies your success. You may currently be going through some things that make you sometimes want to ask, what exactly is the meaning of your life. Your life has a meaning, I tell you. You are more significant than you think you are. Just find out what is written concerning you and you will realize how beautiful and interesting living will be.

Remember as long as the book is closed, the struggle continues.
